Dear God,
As I read the posts of other people on Dear-God, I am struck by the simplicity of my emotions and wants. There are so many complex people and hurt people in this world that my problems are meaningless. After all, I live in a well-off family, go to a good school and have a few good friends. But I can’t appreciate my well-off family, I can’t like my school and I can’t bring myself to get any closer to my friends beyond the superficial. It’s like the old saying; you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. Some days I think I’m fine. Am I? Help me to know if I am. Help my mother to feel better than she does. It kills me to see her like she is, and somehow it’s worse to know just what disease she has. Blessed ignorance, that’s what I wish for. Help me as well. I didn’t ask for this disease, either. What did I do? Have I done something that needs to be punsihed? I didn’t know I was that bad. I feel like a hypocrite; I’ve never had any real faith. Maybe that’s my logical side coming through. But I want to believe-I want to believe so badly. Forgive me for bieng attracted to my best friend-she doesn’t know and she probably never will. But I really don’t know what to do. I’m fake, I lie and I lie to myself. I hurt myself, I hate myself and I punish myself for mere memories that I recall at odd times of the day. Please, just tell me that when I die, either on my own terms, by some accident, or by mere old age, that I won’t go to hell. Please tell me that there isn’t one.

I tell you the truth, my dear. There is a Hell. And it was not made for you. But those who turn away from the very God that you are praying to, are the ones who end up there. While I understand that you don’t want to go to Hell, my greatest desire for you is that you do want to be right with God. And to do that, you must realize that you can’t be right with God on your own. You need an advocate. You need Jesus…just as much as I do. You are sinful, just like I am. Perhaps in different ways, but this does not matter. God is so holy, that He cannot be in the presence of sin. Thus, without being made right with Him, there is no place for you, but Hell. You aren’t good enough to get to Heaven, and neither am I. It is when we turn our eyes upon Jesus–letting Him take control of our entire lives–that we can be in Heaven with God. This is what we were made for. So turn to Him. He wants you to. He’ll accept you. He’ll change you into what you were truly meant to be. Please don’t try and do it on your own. That road leads only to destruction. All that you said about yourself is true. Let Christ Jesus take care of it. And I’ll see you in Heaven, okay?

I believe everything happens for a reason….everything in or life has a greater purpose..more than what we think it is.
But its all about Him…its all about God..the reason for all of this is to let us know who He is and what he can do….
He is not punishing us..He never does…bad things happen so we could turn to him and seek strenght…good things happen so He could bless us and let us know how He still favors us…remember it rains both for the good and the weaked.
God loves us even though we are not worthy, He had love us first before we had ever love Him.
Our time here on earth is just but abrupt..quick…and we are just passer-by’s…our end is never known, but the out come is always one (back to Him)…
Yes there is hell, but its not for us…its for satan and for his minions…its up to you if you would want to join “him”.
But God gave us a better choice….That is life ever lasting…
If you would ask me if I believe everything that I say….Yes, I do believe..and this is your day to believe as well…God bless.

dear Danielle,
don’t worry. don’t ever worry that God will send you to hell. i don’t know if you have ever been to church, or if you go to a catholic school, but in these places God is always described as ‘all-loving’ and ‘forgiving’. and so why would He condemn someone who genuinely cares about the people around them, and how they themselves are impacting the world?
secondly, never say never. you have said all these bad things about yourself, being superficial and ungrateful, but look at how much you care about your family and friends. that is the sign of a good person, so don’t sell yourself short. use that caring nature to help other people for the better.
good luck and god bless,
Stephanie

I used to worry terribly as a child about hell, then I relised that God is perfect and there could be no perfect reason served by tortuing a poor soul for eternity for a brief life of perhaps wrongful livinging. Thus there can be no hell as the christian faith would have you believe. Besides the Bible never realy says so anyway (that will open an argument). but best wishes in your lifes journey, It is painful enough without fers of hell.

My Dear Danielle,
The only hell that exists is the hell we create in our own minds — likewise, “heaven” only exists in This Moment Right Now.
Fear, and every emotion that stems from it: guilt, worry, neediness, greed — are the only states of hell you need to be concerned with.
Pray for peace — the peace to be free from these states of hell, to transcend them and move into a greater love, a grander joy, and a graceful life, and you will never worry about a “hell” ever again — not in this moment, not in death, and especially not during the rest of your life.

I just want you to know that God loves you so much and he wants you to know him and if you want to know seek him out.

Danielle,
Faith is something God gives as His gift. It is important for all of us to remember that the capacity for faith is in all people! And yet the strength to have faith doesn’t come from ourselves- i.e. your logical side has nothing to do with it- because it’s not about you at all. By giving up our own strength, we allow God’s strength to work within us.
It’s like a 100m runner. Many sprinters say, when they win a world record, or run a pb, that they felt as if they were just cruising- they didn’t try hard, they let their body do the work.
It’s a similar thing with God- if we let him to the work- if we just cruise- if we don’t feel as if it’s our own strength that matters- we do far more than we thought was possible.
It is ONLY by being WEAK that you can realise that it is not by your own strength that you live, it is by the STRENGTH OF GOD! Remember the passage “it is only when I am weak that I am strong”!
Remember that the ONLY way the Devil tempts us is by convincing us of our spiritual strength! Accept your weakness and allow God to work within you.
pax,
Tom

Dear Danielle,
There is a hell and GOOD NEWS there’s a heaven too! Keep seeking God; the true and living God.
I also struggle with ‘thoughts’ but that’s all it is a ‘thought’. So think on other things and when those ‘thoughts’ come shke your head and move onto thoughts that are good, true and lovely. Satan attacks our mind always so read the Bible and start using the power of God’s word to pull down them thoughts you’ve been having. We ALL have bad negative thoughts but it’s not the thoughts which are sin it’s what we do or don’t do about it. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” Don’t act out your thoughts.
But it’s no point in using the word of God unless you believe in Jesus Christ and confess Him as your Lord and Saviour and you can’t get to heaven unless you do! The Bible says “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. So confess Him today if you haven’t done so already.
I urge you, in Jesus Name, to repent of your sins and give your life to Jesus Christ; say the following prayer:
God be merciful to me a sinner. Lord, save my soul!!!
God I am a sinner. I repent of my sins. I believe Jesus is the Son of God. I believe Jesus Christ died for my sins. I believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Dear God, please Save me and make me your child. AMEN
Once you have done this then please ensure you do the following in order to lead a holy life that is acceptable to God:
1. Read the Bible everyday…1 Chapter a day at least.
2. Find a church and attend it regularly … a church that preaches the uncompromising Word of God.
3. Pray everyday…prayer is communication with God.
4. Be baptised…you MUST be born again to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Even if you were baptised as a child…do it again!
5. Tell your friends and family what you have done…start being a witness for Jesus.
God bless you and take care.
