Dear God (more specifically, the Christian one),
I have to say I don’t believe you exist. The fact that I’m writing to you right now is not in anyway an indication that I do. I come from a religious family who I would never ever tell I don’t believe, just for the reason that they may take me away to be exorcized. The reason why I don’t believe in you is because there is a perfectly logical reason for why you don’t exist. Religion was created a long time ago before technology, and so you (god) was an explanation to the things humans could not explain. We all know that the ‘divine truth’ has its scientific inaccuracies, that even the Pope has agreed to recognize. But at the same time, the bible came with lessons on life that are all important, and i appreciate the fact that the notion of god has brought happiness and hope to so many across the world, I don’t need to explain this part. But at the same time Christianity has brought pain and condemnation for having conflicting views throughout history.
The concept of “be good and you will live a good life in heaven”; I heard it often as a child and it will never make sense to me. This is a religion where it relies on selfish desire to live a good afterlife. It is a religion partly driven by the fear of hell.
It is ironic that on this website, it is not god (you) that answers the prayers, but the people. And that’s the great thing about this site, where people do not get answers and the advice they lean on god for, we supply that. We are god, because we created god.

When i first read what you had written i jumped out of my seat and begun recounting books such as ‘the athiest manifesto’ and ‘the god delusion’ to myself, both great reads for religious and non-religious people from a philosophic perspective. I wrote a large paragraph to whoever you are, telling you how i agree and why. But there is no need. I just thought it was cool you’re out there and think just like me on this topic. You said that the concept of heaven was that if you be good at the end of life we get to heaven.
I dont agree.
I’ve grown up, like you, in a religious family. But I have been taught that its not what we do that gets us to heaven, its what we believe. If we believe that Jesus is God, he is the path to heaven….

it’s great, that you added, that only Jesus is the way to God. We can’t do anything to get rescue only by Jesus.
Okay, that’s one. Now I have a big question to the prayer:
There are 2 things, why it is very logical to believe in God
- Nothing can create itself.
- A creator is ever higher than his creation. (physics)
So what do you think? There must be something personal that is bigger than our world with all his lifes. Or what do you do with this things, we can’t understand, because we are “only” humans? It’s only logical to believe.
I wish all of you, that you will find the truth. In the Bible is written: evryone, who searches God, will find him. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Mt 7,7)

I’m only young and I have recently been struggling with my beliefs.
Your post has totally helped me realize!
This is what I believe;
The universal spirit is in us all, it is inner feeling of love and unity.
It is merely there because we created it.
In times of trouble and sadness it is not “God” that helps us, the help comes from within ourselves, from the universal spirit that we all share.
By praying for one and other, we use that feeling of unity, we show our love.
I believe heaven and hell are states of consciousness we experience throughout life.
Both are our own doing, Karma.
Jesus was the wayshower, he showed us that, we together ARE the universal spirit, we are all one.
The beginning of the world? I guess, somethings will always remain a mystery. [:

Well, it has happened to me. he/she wants to believe. That’s why he sounds very confused and all that. He wants to believe. but he needs a signal. a prove. just like I do. so yeah. and OMG! I think the same way. I just think that God was created by humans to answer unknown answers. So that’s how the myth grew and grew. It became so popular that even people killed in the name of God.

‘be good and you will live a good life in heaven’ - as a born again christian i can tell you there is no such concept. there are biblical precepts and principles that we live by but for you to understand them, the bible requires one thing of you…do you believe that Jesus is the son of God, who died and has risen from the dead?? if not, the ‘christian’ God will not make sense to you, nor the bible and no amount of rationalisation by science or belief in the universe will justify his existence or non existence…that is why, God is a Mystery, he is such an awesome Wonder!!! but you know why all these conflicts amongst men???..because after he created man he gave him dominion over the earth, i.e rulership and he gave him his own mind…but because there was so much sin he gave us Jesus so we become reconcilied with me and whosoever believes in him..their eyes and mind will open and will come to understand who God is.

can i just ask, if there is no such concept as ‘be good and you will live a good life in heaven’, then what happens to all the christian rapists, murderers and theives. lets not deny the fact they exist. also if people who believe in god are allowed in heaven, the who goes to hell, those who dont? what about those who never had the opportunity to “know” god. so then to be fair, does no one go to hell? but then to be logical does no one go to heaven?

atheists are not exactly haters or non-believers of God. (monks are considered atheists but find Christian principles as excellent teachings)
and though Pope admits that there are some inadequacies in the “Divine Truth” doesn’t mean he states that all is false. (to charlotte) when you read books concerning to what ,this person from Australia, wrote; did you consider reading books not concerned to your so cold atheism?? NO, you didn’t-you were being bias. well the Pope wasn’t. Theologians don’t rely on abstract reasoning alone about proving God, the universe, and all that jazz. Believe me, nonbelievers aren’t the only one using logic,philosophy..etc. WE ALL DO.
Well anyway, none of the marshmallow truths that i stated won’t reach down to you head, being so stubborn, bias, and a person who only listens to his/her own perceptions.
HOPE you don’t jump off seat and find all sorts and stuff, because it’s a waste of time.

It is hard to believe in something if you have not witness it yourself. Many believers see God . Because there eyes are open, There hears are hearing, there nose is smelling, and there heart is beating. We Christian believe because we have witness God presents.
Love, Wisdom, knowledge and faith cannot be seen. But it’s there. GOD is a feeling! Example: Nobody has to tell you that you are coming down with a cold or your hurt. Inside you know it. It’s just like believing in God/Jesus, you will feel his present in your spirit if you know Him.
When you believe (have faith) in something There is a joy inside. There is no confusion in your spirit.
A note to the Unbeliever- Men, for years have experimented with life’s question. Wanting to know everything yet they fail many times. Doctors cannot cure our body. But our body takes care of illness and heals it self.
If our body is not functioning correctly it shuts down.
Faith and God does the same thing.
If we do not feed our minds and spirit with (faith) hope and love. We cannot survive feeling anything special.
Think about it. You can feel good, love, trust, hate, confused, scared, embarrassed, insulted, rejected, sad, or sick?
It is an emotion not visible. But emotion is your spirit and in your mind. Perhaps
The unbeliever has not felt God presence. You have been missing out on that special kind of good feelings living in his world.
Yet you don’t have to get a college education. Nor, have money or even be a certain classification.
Jesus just says believe, find or seek. Or don’t the choice is yours.

Dont think for one minute that everyone who says they are Christian does not go into dark places especially at bad times in their lives. People as “human” beings will always have doubt and feelings of being alone more prominently when they are really alone. Just think, when you surround yourself with negativity such as self guilt and past bad experiences it can be so overwhelming that you could begin to deny alot. What is so wrong with believing in a man who taught tolerance and forgiveness to all aspects of human life. Christ was more than a man. Its the teachings that he brought forward that have lasted thousands of years now that even now make sense and fall into our laws and have made our country to what it is today. Yes there are idiots who try to capitalize on this ideal and blasphemize his word but “trust” me when I say there is magic when you experience his presence. I guess I just feel really bad when I see or hear about someone who was just right where I was years many years ago. The best and really the only thing I can say with this is life doesnt have to be so black. Accept that there is so much in life that the Lord can help you through and that at even the worst of times in your life your not alone. Always remember that there is people in Africa and Asia who see thier families slaughtered and hacked to bits with machetes and still cling to our Savior to allow them to have one more night of peace and that they will one day be able to truly sleep a good night. Some people can be so clouded with selfishness that it draws them away what the true meaning of what Christs teachings are and what will they will always be. Just think about it. Quit being so involved with “Oh pity me” and learn to accept life for what what it is. There are no handouts and that there are no such things as struggles. We all go through it.

i love my life. just because i dont believe in god, it doesnt mean i dont accept life for what it is. i have no idea how that assumption arose but that sure was an irrational thing to assume.
The fact that thousands are being murdered on other continents more of a reason that i would not believe. no matter how much someone prays and prays to the lord, to ensure safety for their families and themselves, in the end, life is unfair and indiscriminatory to the amount someone will suffer in their life, regardless of the religiousness or sprituality.

To some extent this is an idealistic statement. do we all really go through the same amount of troubles? im sorry to hear about your childhood, i will in no way compare myself to anyone, i have had a relatively comfortable life, and i will never understand the hardships so many people go through.

If God didn’t create us, and there’s no such thing as evolution, how come you and I are here?
God did create us then.
Life, is the beginning my friend. Even if how strong you don’t believe it now, at the end when you die one day, you will see God.
You will finally know the truth. Heaven and Hell exists.
Yes. Many prays and prays to the Lord, yet still suffer their whole life through. But at the end, there’s Afterlife, they will never be the same. They will never suffer again. Life is just the short beginning. Death is the real beginning of abundant life.
Regardless of circumstances of life, I know it’s hard to believe. But I do pray that you will know the truth now, than later.

Seek and ye shall find. Jesus is a historical figure written in Roman documents of record. Historical events are part of the scripture. Atheist prpoganda is at an all time high now. Especially with the release of the film Zeitgeist with false vlaims the the Bible was inspired by mythhological errors. Over 50 with most of the sources listed by atheists. The film is nothing more than a fabricated ad campaign aimed to debunk Christianity and have people question their faith. If people don’t research the facts on their own they are being fed useless information with an evil agenda. Another problem in todays society is broken families and families never exposing children to religion. THe grow up most times rejecting it because they have never known the Bible or the love and nutring support of a community congregation.
Better together is an excellent series about working together through Christianity to better our families, community and reaching beyond to help those in need. Many times when there is a flood, hurricane or disaster churches and missions are the first to provide shelter until further help arrives. Habitat For Humanity has done wonderful things to help those less fortunate. With faith in Christ all things are possible. The strength to overcome and perservere. Yes wars have been fought over religion. God gave us ALL “free will” and that creates conflict. Things happen by cause and effect, sometimes seeminglly senseless. When tragedy arrises it brings people together/ Although they are suffering they still pull closer and help each other. Always think of something reater tham yourself and a light to guide your path and see you through te storms. People that have mo faith try to argue Evolution Two words “missing link” Never overlook the miracles and prayers that have been answered because they exist. Visit a hospice center and ask them about faith. They have documents for the family preparing them for how the patient might react and what they might experience as death draws near. Put your faith in Him and the pull and love will fill your heart mind and soul. Guiding every step you take

Just in relation to the comment you left:
i agree with claire.
science has grown and is mainly based on asking the question “why?”
People try put a “science” outlook onto Christianity, which causes all sorts of confusion.
But the Bible says to just have faith in God, and just simply that will set you free from the wordls outlook on life.
It doesn’t mean that it will stop poverty.
It doesn’t mean you will have maximum health for the rest of your life.
It doesn’t mean that close loved ones aren’t going to endure pain.
It doesn’t mean that heart-breaking things won’t happen.
It means that when they do, you can just let God do the work of guiding you through it.
And sometimes you might not see what the next step is, but i assure you that if it is God guiding you to that step it is safe!
God doesn’t control all the poverty and bad things in the world.
He doesn’t always stop the terrible things in our life from happening.
He doesn’t create that bad things.
But he doesn’t put us through more than we can endure.

One day I herd someone say that it must be so sad for those who don’t believe because when they are in a crisis (and believe me you will be in one at one time or another) anyhow, who do you cry out to! the best doctor, the most educated person, the most loyal friend can not give you peace, health, etc. just remember that when all els fails you can call on Jesus, the word of God has been instilled in your heart and like it says his word does not come out void. And something els that I want to share is that the most valuable and honest relationships that I have encountered are from those that have a love for Jesus. Think about it if a person fears God everything els false into place. Meditate on this ” What if you are right and there is no God at the end, what did I lose by being obedient to his word, if everything that he warns us brings consequences ( lying, adultery, murder, hatred etc ) However what if you are wrong and at the end you do go to hell, and hell is eternal!! you didnt have a good life here or there!)

I respect what you have to say. In no way will i answer to start an argument but i cannot stay quiet. I for one believe in god, always have…when all else fails, there is one person i rely on for everything and that is god. He is my best friend and my counselor, my father in all aspects of the word. To me god has been nothing but good, and all i can say is that many say he doesn’t exist because they dont look for him. how can we say something doesn’t exist based on what we cannot see. the wind for example invisible but when it moves you know it’s there. it’s the same with god, seek and he shall be found!

i relate myself to this prayer. i felt like i had written the prayer myself while reading it…
i know some people would think “then why are you on this site and reading the prayers if you don’t believe…”
i have an answer: i’m trying to figure out if people really believe in god, and trying to find a solution to their problems… and i sometimes leave encouraging comments to people who are suffering. people need support from each other, not god. people answer to the prayers here, not god.
to all of you out there who need help, may you be blessed and find the courage and strength to carry on. we all want to help you.

What seems like logic to you is not logic to the next… so does logic exist if it is different all around.
It was once logic to the masses that the world was flat also.
Do you mean mankind is wrong?
Man maybe able to duplicate a human body but never your spirit.
Man can put all the elements they can find in the periodic table together and not make a human without divine intervention.
Man still does not know what makes a body come to life.
Batteries? Solar power? A jolt of electricity?
You can get a hose, turn it on, and point it to an ant pile at full blast… flooding them
Causing a huge deluge that reduces their numbers.
This may lead them to believe that a huge rainstorm came from nowhere
You can also get newspaper, light it on fire, and burn the pile, reducing their numbers
Giving them an impression of fire falling from the sky
Doing these act will not make ants believe you exist but only help control limits with them.
Ants do not care you exist, but do you care if they believe you do?
I am sure you don’t because you are greater than the ant.
Before your year is over many ant generations shall pass leaving only but a memory of what you altered.
But quite often people like to give ants a reality check!
One human is greater than 1 million ants.
When an ant finally realizes that the world is round they still have to learn there are planets.
When ants just simply do not follow the limits,instruction, or acts against you which you do not desire, people often use raid!
When ants go into a path you do not like, what do you do?
When an ant bites you, what do you do?
But, if the ant somehow knew not to bite you….
Not to go into your sugar….
Not to make armies in your home…
Then how would life be for those ants?
How do you communicate this to an ant if they do not speak your language and you are tired of buying, and using raid?
In order to communicate with them they must first know of your existence, then you may have to demonstrate what you are capable of.
Than they may, may listen…
You may not even care about these ants…
You may just have bigger and better things to worry about such as…
paying for the rent for the land those ants live on.
creating your life, your world as you see fit.
So… who lives like an ant?

Hello Everyone,
Everything exists because God exists… infact. all that exists is God, including every human being. The only thing wrong with mostly all religions is that the original message of the prophets/teachers/gurus/Jesus/Budha isn’t there anymore. As the stories were retold so many times they no longer contain the original message that the original teachers spoke of, for their consciouness was much higher than the average human, thru their mediations etc. they had learned to tap into the infinite intellegece/God and taught that in spoke word the best they could, but bible and other writen forms of these teachings were written so much later that by that time the stories had changed & became glorified somewhat. The other things the religions of the world teach you is to look for God outside of ourselves… and not WITHIN our selves. Have any of you beings ever questioned who or what you really are? Have you asked: who am I?, Where do I come from? where do I go when this body dies? What am I really? and What is it that leaves my body and all the mechanics of this body stop working and I am pronounced dead… and this body that every one idintifies me as ‘me” its no good anymore after “whatever’ it is that makes me breathe, live, function that speaks through me, sees through these eyes… leave this body? Where am I in this body really?….. when you ask yourself these questions, you may find answers to your questions.
What you really ARE is GOD…. that Part of you that breathes and makes this body & all of its mechanics work, that speaks, thinks and acts… its what you call your SOUL/SPIRIT…. IS THE GOD PART OF YOU. That’s what God is… You come into this world as that Soul/Spirit/God part of you decided to, and you die, as that part of you leaves the physical body… you never see it, you never question it BUT when you learn to trust in it again as you did as a child, you’ll learn to feel it and it will give you access to infinite knowledge if you’re willing to listen and be with it. Yes, GOD DOES EXIST…. BUT YOUR LOOKING IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES. LOOK WITHIN. GOD IS PURE LOVE, PURE POSITIVE ENERGY THAT IS THE LIFE SOURCE OF ALL THAT IS, ALL THAT EXISTS.
As for figuring out why our lives are all screwed up. Go get the book called “The law of Attraction” or “Ask & it is Given” by Jerry & Esther Hicks or go to the website “abraham-hicks.com” and read the teachings of Abraham-Hicks. You dear friends, are nothing short of extensions of God itself…. you create your own realities by the what ever you give your attention to most of the time. If you focus only on negative things happening to you or in your life… that’s exactly what manifests in your life and if those that give attention to only positive things in life, manifist those things and those that do some of both (most of us) create some of both. The Law of Attraction = a Universal law attracts to you and manifests what ever you think about most of the time, because your thought energy is God enrgy and from nonphysical engery it becomes phsyical or it becomes something from nothing… it takes a physical form of whatever it is that your giving most of your thought attention to. Its called a manifestation. Check it out… Once you learn about the Law of attraction, the non-physical and physical… you’ll free yourself from so much confusion and all the religions will start making sense. What’s with aussies? There’s a few people here from Australia who do not believe in God. Do not you guys know this website is call DEAR GOD? NOT DEAR YOURSELF, UNIVERSE, FAIRY, OR ANY OTHER WIERD THING YOU ATHEISTS BELIEVE TO BE THE CREATOR. However, you all deep inside know God exist. I dare you to ask God with all your heart to show you a sign that He exist and you’ll believe, But you really have to feel it and be prepared for the unexpected.
PS. PLEASE PEOPLE LEAVE THIS FOR THE ONES WHO REALLY BELIEVE IN GOD AND NEED HELP FROM OTHERS.

Wow, Jessica, I really loved what you had to say on the universal spirit. That was both beautiful and honest.
And to everyone else who is questioning the original author, and claiming that’s she’s confused..Please take the time to ACTUALLY read what she wrote rather then begin to look for things to criticize after the first two sentences. It all makes perfect sense and I’m so glad she shares mine, as well as Jessica’s ;), views on life…
I would also like to comment that non-believers are lonely…and So are believer’s….They are that amongst many “good” and “bad” things…Our lives are all balanced…Life in general always has extremes.
It always humours me how people, usually believer’s, use the argument that well “look around, this wasn’t all an accident! we had to come from something” and then immediately take on (a) religion to back up this theory…Well, sure we did…But we often forget that there are such things as agnostics in this world, myself being one of them, who don’t necessarily believe in religion but also agree that the beginning and end are both unexplainable..so why try? Just life your life with fulfillment without hurting others and be happy…Why do we have such a hard time trying to create the beginning and the end..Let it be and accept that you will most likely never know..and that’s Okay…

So God does not exist huh? what you know all things have experienced all things to come to this profound conclusion? wow you must be really wise? Maybe your god? Prove to me then that “God” doesn’t exist, oh that’s right you can’t.
