Dear God,
I don’t want to leave these kids. I am so afraid that there won’t be anyone else who believes in them the way that I do. Protect them please, show them that they are of infinite value, and that they have so much to offer this world. Protect them from those who would tell them that they can’t make it, break through the racism and the assumptions about colored kids from the ghetto. Hold them in your arms.
Amen

Its crazy, but this website has helped me re-discovery my spirituality. Something that I really needed, considering how misanthropic I can get. So thank you. Thank you for the very bottom of my heart for creating something so honestly beautiful.

I’m sorry, I can’t do that. Some people are motivated by being told they can’t do something, and I would be holding some of them back.
Please be careful letting them hear you say these things. Regardless of the people who might say they will fail, you’re placing too much weight on factors outside their control and those factors can become excuses very easily. Better to teach them to put all they can into things they do have control over. If you can get that point across the naysayers will have much less power over them.

So nice to read your prayer. I say the same one every day for the orphans I work with in Nairobi. Keep doing the great work you do. It is a lonely road trying to get people to care about these poor kids. I’m stuggling to find sponsors for my orphans who’s parents have died of AIDS. May this message touch people’s hearts so they can support my orphans and your kids.

Where CHILDREN are concerned ALL PRAYERS, IF THROUGH DEATH, DISEASE OR FATE are ALWAYS WELCOMED . Know that you’re all loved for the goodness you impart and the generosity of spirit is extended outward from you. It’s like, whilst the world has now got quite small the problems and suffering in it is vast and overwhelming.
THE CHILDREN matter most … without a doubt so thank each and everyone of you for helping as you do. MY LOVE TO YOU!

Your quote “I am so afraid that there won’t be anyone else who believes in them the way that I do” actually undermines faith in God. He believes in them (and us) , more than we will ever know. I undertsand your passion for the kids you work with, i work with homeless young people, but you are putting more faith in yourself than in God. Trust that He will take care of his own.

I would like to counter act what Winston said, I understand about putting too much faith in yourself but I believe that we can also become God’s tangible love. Sometimes we do not know why we are passionate about someone’s life or why we say or do some of the things that we do it becomes natural like we meant to do it all along.
Perhaps God is guiding our Love. Perhaps you are able to be the physical aspect of what God is.
