Dear God,
Why do you let so many fake religions exist? It screws up the world and holds us back from maturing and sharing in truth and the one family that we could be here on earth. So don’t you think its about time you sorted this mess (you created) out yourself now instead of sittin there watcing the thousands of people here dying unnescessarily. You know how our minds work, you created every aspect of our psyche. You knew it would happen like this. Are you happy with it? I pray that one day soon none of us believe in you. I pray that one day soon we all believe that this life on earth is all there is going to be and that its up to us to make it. If you answer my prayers, I think you would be happier too, because people will be happier, and as you love us, and your love is REAL love and not the conditional kinda “kiss my ass” love of some fake religions, it would therefore be the best thing all round, for you too, even if no-one gives two hoots about you (although secretly to me you would be my hero). I prayed…
I can be my own god and lead my own life.

Religion truly leads to death!
I agree it is toxic, but having met our precious redeemer! Let me say this if ALL hearts minds and souls were truly reaching out to find a powerful relationship with HIM- wow, we would be moved by His Spirit and not by our selfish desires and then, yes there would be that harmony we crave as planet inhabitants!!

i just wish i could block everyone else out and not pay attention to the screams of today’s “christian”.

Wake up people, see the darkness inside each of you, each of us.
If you, and you, and me, and everyone who believes in God, whatever the reason, believes that God is responsable for all the evil in the world, we’d better find someone and something else to believe in. That is immature and irational.
We cannot believe in a God that we personally create. Everybody sees God in his own way, an old man, a black Morgan Freeman like, etc. That desn’t mean that we all are mistaking. It’s just we shouldn’t express and affirm so strongly that what we believe and supposevly know.
Wake up, wake up. Search God for what He is, not for what you want !!!!!

God didn’t create religion. That’s mans perversion of what God originally intended. God Wanted Christ followers or “Christians” people that realize by there own means they can’t be good enough.
Honestly none of us can make ourselves a good person, sure we can try to stay within legal bounds and try to be moral, but as we often naturally do, we slip up. We lie, cheat, steal, to some extremes murder, we don’t obey are fathers or mothers, all outlined in Gods ten commandments (exodus 20:3-17) which is Gods law. By breaking Gods law we have to deal with Gods consequences, and as the bible says, for the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), which leads us to hell. So if we don’t accept a substitute or find a way to pay our debt we must accept our consequences. That substitute is Jesus, by accepting his gift of salvation, we accept the payment he provides.
**As true believers, or Christians we are to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, Spread this good news of salvation, and give the glory to God. What religion portrays is nothing like Christianity Should be.
I agree with your statement, but I think you are blaming the wrong person, or diety.
I’m Glad to see you are questioning things, and not just accepting everything, it is good to wonder why people are so screwed up or why there are so many false religions out there. I hope this post helps you decide, or at least helps you understand a Christians point of view.

Because people see God for what they are lead to belive he is, hundreds of thousands - if not millions - of people have died in ‘Holy Wars’.
As opposed to seeing God as he is, seeing him [lower case initail - shock!] as he we belive him to be would be the best thing. It would provide for us the blind faith that we require to get through life and at the same time, it would provide a moral code (because, in essence, religion was created and centralized to impose a decent moral code on everybody in non-violent ways) that each of us could live with.
I think there should be more religions on this planet because that is not the harm. The real damage is done by people trying to impose their point of view on everybody else and going to violent extremes to do so.

God has a reason for everything, don’t have doubts in him.
I wish I could give you a better answer, but I don’t think I have enough wisdom being that I’m only 13.
All I know is that I love God and Jesus with everything I have and I plan to for the rest of my life no matter what anyone else says.
I hope you find your way, too.
God bless!

God is not happy that people dont worship him. God did not creat this mess… God is perfect and we screwed all this up… and God did send someone to fix it all and his name was Jesus. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” We are the reason why life is this way because we brought sin into the world… Not God.

I’ve come to the conclusion that all religions are fake - the are appropriated by people who use god for their own agenda. Religion has brought more pain and suffering on people than any world war.
I believe in god but I’ll have nothing to do with religion.

Why people are so greedy…God (if there is one) has already created human, the rest is up to us.

One God gave us life. Before that we had nothing. Can you pass the test of life? Jesus gave us the answers.

When God created man, He gave man free will, because He didn’t want robots to serve Him (that would, after all, be boring). God gives man a choice of life or death, and He wants us to choose life, but He doesn’t force it on us – it’s up to us to choose (after all, would we be able to say we “love” Him if we didn’t choose to, instead of Him having to force us?). Man made different religions and turned away from God – but God gave us the wisdom, through the Bible, to know which is the true religion that truly belongs to Him in these days. He gave us that knowledge, because He loves us, and He wants us to be saved. But He doesn’t want to FORCE us into loving Him – we need to prove we love Him by seeking Him out. But you need to find the TRUE religion, the REAL people who preach HIS words truly.

Religion is the avenue….we’re all trying to get to the same God.
August 11th, 2008 at 11:31 am
God didn’t create all these different religions….we, humans did. God didn’t bring pain into our lives…we, humans did that. God created us…but, HE also gave us free will…we’re the idiots that’s mucking it up. When all is said and done, I don’t believe that God will be all that concerned about what “religion” label we attached to our beings…HE just wants our love and for us to worship HIM and love and care for each other. Instead of trying to tell others that their belief system is wrong…why not learn about their belief system so we can be more understanding and supportive…I think it’s a travesty to constantly do battle over what religion is the right religion. All our roads lead to our Heavenly Father. That’s it, pure and simple. Our God is an AWESOME GOD!!!

THE REST IS UP TO US…………Shu is so right. We are our own creation. Our history is built by our actions. We can think, write, speak…but when we do something (also when we don’t do anything) there are consequences. For ourselves and for the others. God is for us ALWAYS…but we look after Him, generally, when we are angry, sad, etc. This horrible present is made by people…only we are responsible……………HE SAID EVERYTHING………..HE SHOWED THE WAY………and HE GAVE US THOUSAND YEARS TO UNDERSTAND.
HE IS. HE STILL IS. BECAUSE HE IS THE ONLY ANSWER. We don’t listen.
August 14th, 2008 at 2:35 am
You people and your crazy fairy tales, might actually be funny if it wasn’t so sad.
August 14th, 2008 at 9:02 am
we are all just energy…god doesn’t exist…only consciousness is absolute..only the ones that are on the universal path for purpose and truth will be enlightened…
August 16th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
if you believe there’s a God, who are you to question him? do you understand who God is? he created you and can delete you with a zap. just think about it. they very fact he created you is for his good. so try to pray about what he wants from you.
people who serves themselves are their own god. they themselves are the “lord” of their lives. they are their own religion. people created religion, not god.
christianity is not a religion. its a relationship anyway.
August 21st, 2008 at 10:37 pm
I don’t think a healthy “belief” in a God is the problem… The real problem is “blind” belief in ONE SINGLE WRITTEN IN STONE TRUTH, immatureness, the incapability of accepting more than one truth and of seeing different points of views as enriching and finaly intollerance…
If all people were more openminded on average religion would not pose a problem and would be something enriching…
The problem is that religion is too often misused by it’s leaders in order to control people. And the “dumber” people are the easier they are to control….
So i say, lets enlighten! Lets open as many minds as we can!

Even though you doubt, even though you may feel out, God still loves you irregardless of our misgivings, doubts and inadequacies. I don’t know but I know I couldn’t create anything close to God’s smallest of thoughts or ideas. I do know that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me with God’s help. Hang in there, there’s still hope for all of us mortals.
August 31st, 2008 at 1:41 pm
you have a good point, religion is the cause of most of the worlds problems today.
but there is a good side to it, it gives people hope. i am completely atheist, but religion can be useful to some people when over coming obstacles in their life such as a close family member or friend dyeing. Religion gives those people hope that death isn’t just the end and that they can be happy that their family member is in a paradise of sorts.
i am with you on thinking that religion is completely screwing up what weir trying to gain (equality) and that people are at each others throats over who the “true” god is. but the smaller aspects of religion such as hope and love and that kind of stuff helps to keep some people going.
i don’t believe in any god of any religion because I’m considered to be a sinner for just being who i am. But the whole message of love and hope that some religions preach can be quite useful to people going through some heavy shit.
yeah thats just my two cents

What is a “fake religion”? There is no One True Religion. All have something to offer regarding the Nature of God. God is far too big a concept to be contained in any one religion.
I believe in personal piety. No one has the right to tell me how to experience God. God can be all things to all people: Jesus, Allah, Yahweh, Shiva, Isis, Buddha… and the list goes on. I refuse to put God in a box. “When a man prays to God, he’s pious; if God talks back, he’s crazy.” What a sad commentary on this Western view of religion. We should not have a one-way relationship with God.
It’s all about God.
September 5th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
People what do you want God to do? You want him to fix everything but then you will want to live your own life and have him step back. He created us, he sent Jesus down to spread his message and what did we do, we killed him. He is giving us the right to chose, like a parent lets their child chose and make their own mistakes.
September 7th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
Geez, all you Christians are so down on people of other faiths. Jesus said to remove the plank from your own eye first. You’re all hypocrites. You post on here asking God for favours and then in the next breath tell anyone who isn’t a Christian that they have to follow Jesus or else.
I have no issue with Jesus - it’s his followers who get up my nose.
September 30th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
If people are giving you the impression that they’re forcing Jesus on you, thats definitely wrong of them. But not all believers of God behave in that manner- just as God gave us a choice to follow His Son, those who follow Him shouldn’t force Jesus down peoples’ throats, or bad-mouth about other faiths. I’m honestly sorry you think christians are all hypocrites, but no one is ever perfect -except for Jesus. Perhaps thats why you have no issue with Him. Sadly, many christians twist and misuse their faith (or the name of God) for their own personal agenda, this generation of believers needs to rise up and follow God for who He is to them and live selflessly for His glory!
By the way, I’d rather not call myself a christian, but just a believer of Christ. It just gives others the misinterpretation that Christianity is just another religion. Correction: Its a personal relationship, a honest pursue of God, through His son Jesus Christ.
Peace everyone!

I agree with the prayer’s message. What would it matter anyway if there was a god or not, or which version of god we believe in. Truth of the matter is, for me, is that when we die, we cease altogether. There’s no afterlife. Just live this one life because it’s all that we have.
Then again, I don’t force this belief on anyone. The rest of my immediate family is a devout lot, serving the local church, sometimes even more than the priests do but that’s that. My dad taught me things more than religion. He taught me to value other people and their rights, to treat them as you would yourself. That’s something we find in various religion’s teachings and I certainly think that it is universal and one of the fundamentals of morality. I don’t think I need religion to apply that anymore. I don’t need the “you will burn in hell if you don’t do this or that” sort of attitude. I don’t think it helps at all. It just puts people in despair that they can’t do anything to retribute themselves from this impending punishment, thus leaving them where they are at. They feel daunted of the change that they give up.
Just my two cents.

My prayer is that God would really open your eyes so that you may see divine truth. Is it God’s perfect will that evil and that all of the ugly in the world gets glorified the most? NO!!!! God has given man a choice. He can pursue evil or pursue good. Adam chose evil as a result of his own negligence as this caused the fall of the human race and the rise of satan’s legal authority. Everything about God is good and don’t forget that because He is love. However, there are some conditions in the world that make you wonder where God is but the truth is that He is there and He is waiting for us to repent. 2 Chronicle 7: 14 says’ If my people who are called by my name would humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and their wicked ways.

And God would heal the land. Bru, if you make it you priority to get to know God personally, through his son Jesus Christ, I guarantee that you whole mindset, opinion and attitude toward this would change.
