deargod-drugtaking.jpg Dear God,

Why should my 3 best friends have to part at the age of 16? Why do I keep killing myself to try to save them from their addiction when it always ends up hurting me more than them. Watching my friends suffer over drug addictions is burning a hole in me that hasn’t healed, and now I have to leave them. I pray they survive, pray that they take my guidence so I can lead them into a bright future instead of the dark path they are leading. They’re good people, they just need our guidence…save them Sarah, Oregon/USA

    Sarah,
it really shows that your heart is close to your friends, and you are really trying to help them, as well as your faith in God.
But try letting Him to lead the “team”, and let Him “lead them into a bright future”. Maybe His plans are a bit different from yours. Maybe that is what makes you suffer.
Do your thing, but try not to take control. No matter how close you are to them, the best you want for them, might not be the best God has instored for them and others.

    Best of luck!

    Sarah,
Sometimes love is painful. It seems that your deep love for your friends causes your heart to ache because you see that they could be so much more….have so much more. Never stop believing in people, especially whom God has placed in your life. I too have suffered over the addictive behaviors and consequences of those I love. Part of the growth and learning process for me has been to realize that I am NOT God and therefore I am limited in what I can do. I can pray for them and call upon the power of God to save them from themselves, but I can not heal them, or change them. May God give you the strength to keep believing in your friends and seeing the potential that they have. And may He give you grace to pray for them and leave the results in His hands, even when you struggle to understand.

Love is always painful in this life.

Death is a natural part of life, being a good person does’nt affect being able to die.

I wish the best of luck to you.

Be strong. Sometimes we have to make decisions that you don’t want to make but that we know will in the end make us happy, sometimes that means stepping away from certain friendships that are hurting us emotionally.
Doesn’t mean you have to cut them off completly forever, but maybe if you step out of their lives for awhile it will make them realise they asre hurting the ones around them and help them get the help they require.

I UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL. MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN SUFFERING WITH AN ADDICTION TO COCAINE. I HAVEN’T COME TO GRIPS WITH IT YET. I STILL CRY AND I’M STILL VERY CONCERNED. BECAUSE IT IS HARD TO SEE SOMEONE YOU LOVE AND CARE ABOUT DOING SOMETHING THAT HURTS THEM. BUT GOD MOVES SUDDENLY! AND A DAY IS A THOUSAND YEARS TO THE LORD AND A THOUSAND YEARS IS A DAY. SO YOU MAY HAVE BEEN HURTING AND PRAYING FOR FIVE YEARS BUT THAT IS FIVE DAYS TO THE LORD. KEEP YOUR FAITH AND TRUST GOD WITH THE IMPOSSIBLE, HE REMAINS FAITHFUL!!! CONTINUE TO PRAY. NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES, NO MATTER IF THE WORSE HAPPENS BEFORE THE BEST….PRAY ALWAYS AND BELIEVE GOD WILL WORK IT OUT FOR HIS GLORY. HIS LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL AND HE CARES AND LOVES BEYOND OUR UNDERSTANDING. YOUR FRIENDS ARE IN GOD’S HANDS AND THEY WILL BE ALRIGHT. I PRAY FOR YOUR PEACE AND COMFORT.

I have a lot of friends who experiment with drugs and this past summer a childhood friend of mine overdosed on heroin. I knew he was doing it and so did all his new so called friends, who where doing the same thing, but none of them really cared about his wellbeing. It sounds like you honestly care for your friends well being and dont want them to get into the wrong hands or the wrong drugs and that is truly honorable. After losing my friend I look back at it all and I wish I had let him know how much I love him. Sometimes it gets to stressful and you have to distance yourself from them but always keep your arms stretched out to them and ALWAYS let them know you love and support them.

im 16 as well but am nowhere near having those kinds of problems. But honestly in my opinion, asking for help from God wont do much. As bleak as it sounds, many people ask God for help and dont get much in return. This site has so much evidence of that.

im not trying to put you down, but what you should do is stay strong and try to find the best possible way to help your friends realistically. Asking god for help whether or not he exists, you MUST find the most effective way to help your friends.

Look all theys people are right and maybe wrong.. Maybe im in the worst mistake. I believe in God as a super natural energy that some times guides us and gives us what we need most or what we truely deserve. I believe that if a person cant help him self, no one can.. God gives us the strenght to change things of all sorts. Im NOT saying you arent trying to save them hard enough im clearly saying you shuldent give up and continiue trying your best to get them back from the drugs.
I WISH YOU ALL YOU LUCK AND I TRUELY HOPE YOUR PRAYER IS ANSWERED!
    STAY STRONG ^^
