Dear God is a global project for people around the world to share their innermost hopes - and fears - through prayer.
It doesn’t matter what your version of God is…Jesus, Allah, Buddha or simply a spiritual universal energy… praying to a higher power soothes and heals. It is believed that people who pray are healthier, happier and more resilient.
Share your prayers here and help us create hope one prayer at a time. Simply send us your personal letter to your God and/or a picture that sums up your message visually. (Dear God will source a picture if you don’t have one).

you’d be surprised at the strength u can have in these situations, sometimes its all about proving what you are capable of on your own…if you can pull through you’d be amazed what it feels like on the other side….see you there.

You’re 14, your brain is supposed to be wrecking you with emotional turmoil right now. This is a period in your life that symbolizes separation and the beginnings of independence. Everyone goes through this stage as part of puberty, it is intended for you to break away from the calm normality that has supplicated your raising so that you may face hardship on your own. Don’t run from it, embrace it and learn the lessons of the day. For that, you will become a stronger healthier person when you are older.

Don’t look to a phantom to get your problems solved — make a change within yourself instead of waiting for guidance, from a non-existant god, that will not come.

Stay strong, I’m fighting hard to stay off of insulin. Don’t listen to doctors. Prayer will cure all.

Will power. Get some and things will get better. Prayer does nothing.

Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer.

Lachy, I myself struggled with depression for six years and never took a single anti-depressant. Trust in a good counselor to help guide you as to when you should be on medication and when you don’t need it. I think anti-depressents are over prescribed but sometimes necessary. Know that God does use trials to refine a person and despite the pain and torment I suffered, I am one heck of a happy individual today. Also you say you are not the most deserving person, but God’s grace is indescribable and he looks past your faults to say He loves you. If you think about it, without God’s grace, we are all undeserving.
Grace and Peace be with you.

Hold onto hope Lachy. Even when we feel as though we’re undeserving of any divine love, he still never stops loving us as he always has. There is strength there, even if we don’t see until after the hard times have passed. Hang on, and pray+trust for strength from a loving creator. I don’t know if you read a lot of the bible, but just to keep a positive mindset, the psalms have some amazing stories of struggles and triumph. Take hope in what is real.

You need to take responsibility for your own actions, instead of turning to invisible sky gods and blaming others.
You decide your own future. What do you want to do with your life?

You are thee key to your own change.
remove thee ideology that you are the only one experiencing turmoil-
I was on anti - depressants as a child [against my will] and it did nothing for me but create an absolute crack in my mental construct. but at this time [as in the MYTHOS] death - or collapse ov hope enables a path way for infinite growth…if there is nothing to hope for what have you to loose then ? strive forward placing social/economic/neurotic issues in thee hands ov ae social control form such as “god” will only serve to close your mind in the long run- you are the key.

First of all, this is not a place to ask for, or give medical advice other than talk to your doctor and parents about your depression.
For those of you who are saying that prayer or meditation cures all, why did God give us doctors and medication if we weren’t expected to avail ourselves of them? Having suffered moderate depression for a number of years, it was medication that finally got me through things.

If you were prescribed an anti-depressant, you have an imbalance in your dopamine transmitter. Relying on prayer for physical ailments, while helpful, will not provide a cure. Anti-depressants take about three months to take an effect. Stay on them a while longer, you may find them helpful then.

If prayer actually worked, everyone would always be happy. Depression isn’t a bad thing, tells you something is wrong, and forces to you fix or change things. And this is how life is, is has great times, and reallly shitty times, cant avoid them. Taking antidepressants, something we dont really even know how they work, isn’t the answer and is altering your brain chemistry. the are legal because you dont get high and a pharm company makes billions on them, but they are mind altering nonetheless. There was a study that showed excercise is better at dealing with depression than drugs or drugs and excercise. So, i know it isn’t the answer, the answer lies in fixing whatever makes you sad, which is the hard part. good luck

Everyday is a new day to start fresh.. start new. Realisation for change itself is a begining. The road maybe a hard at start but one has to take the first step and start walking. With time everything will gradually fall into place. Good luck.. and God bless.
