Dear God is a global project for people around the world to share their innermost hopes - and fears - through prayer.
It doesn’t matter what your version of God is…Jesus, Allah, Buddha or simply a spiritual universal energy… praying to a higher power soothes and heals. It is believed that people who pray are healthier, happier and more resilient.
Share your prayers here and help us create hope one prayer at a time. Simply send us your personal letter to your God and/or a picture that sums up your message visually. (Dear God will source a picture if you don’t have one).

things change- the world outside is never the same, but always moving on.
what this means is that you can’t expect that world to produce happiness for you, because it won’t.
how is it that your happiness is not coming from you?
(surprise!) it is! it always was and it always will be yours, coming from you!!
maybe you feel that your’re not worthy of being happy because you haven’t suffered enough, then you can be happy.
OK.
>>>you’ve suffered long enough<<<,
now you can be happy!

Hello,
My name is Snejana Farberov, and I am a reporter for the Columbia News Service, carried by the New York Times News Wire to 400 papers around the country. I have stumbled upon this Web site a few days ago, and the concept behind it really fascinated me. I am looking to write an article about new ways in which people connect to God and find spirituality in their lives using modern technology.
I would like to have the chance to talk to people from this Web site about their spiritual experiences that brought them to this unusual forum. Please e-mail me if you’re interested at sf2345@columbia.edu.
Best regards,
Snejana Farberov

I think everyone should read “Surprised by Joy” by C.S. Lewis. He, in his dry, logical, and intellectual way, describes his experience with happiness (he refers to it as Joy), which is very similar to Annabella’s.

Hi Annabella, lovely name. I’ve been around this planet for a long time now, I have had my doubts and raged at God with all the injustices in the world, I still find it difficult to believe at times, but I KNOW there’s something out there greater than ourselves, Annabella, and life is just a series of little joys and many disappointments, but we have to learn to live for the joys.
Someone once said to me Happiness is like a butterfly, the more you chase it, the faster it gets away, but sometimes; if you sit quietly it willl come and sit on your shoulder.
Love yourself Annabelle…don’t ever feel ashamed, or less than, you are a unique being, and a unique creation.
All the best

True joy and happiness come from within. Find that, and happiness will not be just a momentary instant based on external experience, but a consistent way of life.
Live with joy.

The only person you can depend to be happy is yourself.

i have those intense feelings as well, but mine go away because i am afraid of them. im scared that if i ‘bask in the happiness’ for too long something is going to take it away…

HAPPINESS
Find someone disabled, worse off than you, an older person who needs company, a young person who needs to learn to read or join up to help lost animals etc. Working for other people/animals can take the focus off yourself and give you time to develop your own happiness, as well as enjoy your happiness.
Every person has a God-given right to happiness, so discover it by helping others and then really enjoy it. Focus on the good times. Write a list of the good things you have everyday (blessings). Write at least three - DON’T ALLOW YOURSELF NEGATIVE thoughts - choose to be happy.
And Exercise - feel strong and eat well - fresh stuff. Get a friend to do this with you. You will feel energised and happy the way God wants you to be. Cheers and Blessings.

Hi Annabella,

Sometimes not being able to feel happy is a sign of something more serious. Please make sure that your doctor is aware you feel this way.
Happiness is a precious gem. Take some time to look for it now and then, even in the smallest of things. Appreciate the moments, even if you don’t consider them to be ‘intense happiness’. And smiling can do wonders.

I love these moments, they are fleeting and the older you get, the more dispersed.
It would be great if we could conjure them up at will, but alas you can’t.
So savour them and try keep their memory alive.
It was a very pretty post and made me feel happy, sitting in winter sun.
